Policy

PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES Pick-Ups Please remind your child to be ready to go at the appointed pick time and remind them to be at the designated pick-up location as soon as his/her class or activity is over. Doing so helps us get your child to their destination in a timely manner. However, if a Kids Kab van has not arrived within 10 minutes of the scheduled pick up time, please call our office at (408) 342-0100 or mobile (408) 313-0330 and we will advise you of the status. If your child calls you, please call us before you run out to get him/her because we are most likely on our way to pick them up. Please program our mobile number in your child’s mobile phone.   Drop-Offs If we cannot leave your child at the specified drop-off location due to being locked out, an adult not being there upon arrival, or unforeseen changes in your child’s extracurricular activities, Kids Kab will then contact a parent to get an alternative drop off location. We will, however apply a $15.00. service charge. A $15.00 service charge may apply if the driver is asked to wait for more than 15 minutes for your child. Please have a backup plan for these situations and discuss them with your child.   No Shows For the safety of your child, courtesy of the driver, and promptness of our schedules, it is extremely important that you advise us if your child will not be riding with us on any given day. We attempt to confirm your child’s absence as much as possible – by calling the school and or a parent.  This is very time consuming, it delays us and creates concern about your child’s whereabouts! Cancellation Policy We have a (7) day advance notice cancellation policy. If cancelling (7) days prior to a scheduled ride this will result in a credit, if not (less then (7) days) no credit will be issued.  Please notify us of the cancellation via email. Frequently Asked Questions  Q: What is your service area? A: We service Cupertino, Saratoga, South Sunnyvale & surrounding cities.   Q: Do you service outside of these areas? A: Yes. However, we charged an extra $2.00 per mile outside our Primary Service Area.   Q: How will my child know if it’s a Kids Kab vehicle? A: All Kids Kab vehicles are marked Kids Kab “For Kids Who Are Going Places” . All drivers wear shirts with the Kids Kab logo and a picture badge.   Q: Will my child be picked up on time? A: We do our best to stay on schedule, but tardy students, traffic and weather conditions are beyond our control   Q: What will happen if my child is not at the pick up location? A: The driver will first contact the office dispatcher who will contact the student’s school to ensure the student was present. If the student was present the dispatcher will then contact one or both parents. The driver will not leave until the whereabouts of the child is known. If the school attendant informs the dispatcher that the student was NOT in class, the driver will be instructed to leave and a call to the parents will be made.   Q: Will my child be the only one on board? A: At times there is only one child on board, however it depends on how many children from your child’s school also use our service.   Q: Will my child be the first to be dropped off? A: Children are dropped off according to the most efficient routing.   Q: Will the driver walk my child to the door? A: Yes, if requested. If not requested the driver will wait until they see that the child makes it safely indoors.   Q: Will it be the same driver everyday? Passenger Rules

PASSENGER RULES The transportation rules must be followed at all times while in van. Parents, please remind your children of the importance of these rules throughout the school year.   ❖   No food or drinks are allowed in the van. ❖   Bullying other passengers is not tolerated. ❖   Passengers must wear seat belts at all times. ❖   Keep hands, feet and head inside the van at all times. ❖   Do not throw objects inside the van or out the windows. ❖   Passengers will remain seated while the van is moving. ❖   Be polite and courteous to the driver and other passengers. ❖   Inappropriate language/behavior is not acceptable or tolerated. ❖   Do not write on or scratch the van or damage other rider’s property. ❖   All passengers will obey the driver throughout the entire ride. The driver may assign seats, if necessary. ❖  Passengers should remain seated until the van comes to a complete stop and the driver has opened the door.   Kids Kab is not liable for any items left on a Kids Kab vehicle.
